Why People Can't Mind Their Own Business

I don't know when it happened or why it took me so long to realize it, but people are freaking nosy. You can't so much as mention something remotely interesting to your friend without the crowd getting involved.

Scenario:
Me to friend: Hey, did you hear about Trumps plans to build the wall?
Friend:*about to respond*
Nosy ass person: Yea and...
My thoughts: HOLD UP!!! Last I checked, I was NOT talking to you!

Now, normally someone butting into a conversation doesn't bug me, because generally, they have something to actually say, valid points, or incomplete thoughts that they'd like to discuss. However, you still have some people who just like to hear themselves talk, or create issues. Those people can walk the other way because their opinions were neither required nor desired.

I do understand though. Humans are curious creatures. Besides being unusual, we have a strong desire to know or learn. People are curious because they are constantly seeking knowledge. There are so many things we would be without right now if it wasn't for curiosity, or awesome accidents.

Curiosity is not a bad thing. In fact, there are surprising benefits to curiosity. It helps us survive, makes us happy, boosts achievement, expands empathy, strengthen relationships (unless your boo has been looking into why you haven't been answering their texts), and overall improves healthcare.

Point being, don't worry about being nosy(but please, if you must speak, add something important to the conversation, not stupidity). You can annoy someone all you want. At the end of the day your curiosity is fed, and you have what you wanted. Knowledge is power.

Until next time,
