Why Holidays are Over Rated
A holiday is a day where something is celebrated and people don't work. Which, quite frankly is UNTRUE, especially if you work in the food service or hospitality industry. During holidays, we're supposed to share and spend time together... But what do we actually learn from holidays? Except for some history that most people don't even know or care about, I say nothing. We learn absolutely nothing. Don't believe me? Let me break down a few of our (U.S.) federal holidays. January 1st: New Years Day We start the year with food, fireworks, alcohol, watching some kind of countdown on your television with a bunch of friends, family, and/or strangers. What do we celebrate?
